The Stoned Cherries

The Stoned Cherries in their current form came together in summer 2014, based around the core members Roger Pugh and Dave Evans. With the addition of Matt and Aly, a band appeared that enjoys playing original and traditional songs and tunes that would make people dance, smile and think. 2018 sees the band playing more festivals and bigger venues.

Roger and Dave write the original songs and tunes, with  traditional tunes featuring as well.  The occasional cover song may be thrown in for good measure.

The band plays with verve and passion, and a sprinkling of humour keeps audiences entertained. Gigs have included Nozstock, Fishguard Folk Festival, Ludlow Spring Festival, Tenterden Folk Festival, the Red Lion Folk Club, with Geoff Lakeman, Farmer Phil's Festival, Worcester Music Festival, Ludlow Green Festival, Clun Green Man Festival, Earth Fest at The Fold, the opening night of Bromyard Folk Festival,  The Lowfield Inn at Marton, The Criterion in Leicester, The Sun Inn Leintwardine, The Bell Inn, Yarpole, Folk Down the Track , Knucklas, Knighton Community Hall and the Sylvester Horne Institute, Church Stretton.  People enjoy the variety of material and the original approach. Comments such as "really enjoyable", "loved it.." "everyone said how good the show was..." "....an excellent band" being commonplace.

On 8th September 2017 the band released  their debut album "Baked in a Pie, recorded at Cobnash Studios, near Kingsland and it has been well-received by reviewers.
